CALLING ALL SOLO PERFORMANCE MAKERS

SOLO is a South West based solo performance forum coordinated by Misri Dey and Ria Hartley, which has been set up for regional, national and international solo devisor/performers to develop, show or simply work in a non-isolated environment. It consists of dialogues, laboratories, platforms and residencies.

SOLO seeks to create an environment for artists, specifically working on solo practice at all stages of their careers, who are seeking to receive feedback and/or work in new ways or with new skills and experience. It is a place for exchange, support and professional development and aims to meet the needs of the individuals involved to take some focused time to work with others and receive feedback.

SOLO was founded in 2005 by Misri Dey at Dartington College of Arts the forum will now be coordinating two groups, one in Bristol led by Ria and one in Falmouth led by Misri

SOLO in Bristol will host monthly events at the Milk Bar which will invite solo artists to share knowledge, skills and experience through workshops, screenings, discussions, presentations and scratch showings working towards a platform of new Solo work in Bristol 2015.

Are you devising new and original solo performance or wanting to create work as a solo? Are you looking for ways to support your solo making processes and develop ideas in a non isolated environment? Are you keen to share knowledge and skills about solo performance with other solo makers? Are you curious or interested about solo work and want to find out more?

If yes to any of the above then please come along to the first Bristol group SOLO meeting on 20th Feb @ 7pm the Milk Bar,  11 St Nicholas Street, Bristol, BS1 1UE

The meeting will be an introduction to the forum and an open dialogue for solo makers to discuss individual needs and to see who would like to join and take part in developing work towards a 2015 solo performance platform.

The forum is open to solo artists working across the wide field of contemporary performance practices.
